Seems impressive ..
Victoria's just completed a $7 million development initiative regarding
the VicMap Position-GPSnet, claiming it's five months ahead of schedule.
<http://www.dse.vic.gov.au/GPSnet>
The service claims satellite positioning accuracy of 2 centimetres (+/-)
horizontal and verticle for anywhere in Victoria. They say this compares
to an accuracy of (+/-) 20 metres for some normal GPS units, and will be
available to anyone, utilizing simply low-cost mobile internet solutions.
"Ahhh start the tractor Claude, turn on the GPSNet unit, and let 'er rip,
and we'll come back when it's finished .. gotta get to cricket training!"
Cheers,
Stephen
