  The whole thing is a beat-up. It also irritates me that anyone not 
following the beat-up is presumed a Conroy lackey.

Try this, Max:

"Customers who want a fixed line telephone today are forced to connect 
to Telstra copper".

How stupid do people need to be to understand that if you want a fixed 
connection, you need - guess what! - a fixed infrastructure to connect to.

Now, some points along the way.

"The government revealed" is bullshit, since this has been known since 
Conroy discussed it before the election. "Last night" is bullshit since 
this has been (once again) a story since last week.

There's no new information in this story.
