Australia
- Contributed by Holly Raiche
The main news item is our very successful 2-day IPv6 Summit, held in
Melbourne. We had a good mix of national and international speakers (and
were happy to see Phil Roberts from ISOC there). All the speakers bios
and presentations are available on:
http://www.ipv6.org.au/summit/abstracts.php
We also held our AGM to coincide with the summit. We have two new
directors, Skeeve Stevens, CEO of eintelligo, a Sydney based company that
builds and manages ISP and other networks, and Roger Clarke, academic at
the Australian National University, who has his own consultancy as well.
He has years of experience in Internet issues, with a particular interest
and concern with privacy.
Our other major event this quarter was the completion of a 'Broadband
Primer' for the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network
(ACCAN), the peak telecommunications body, setting out in simple terms
the issues for consumers raised by our planned National Broadband Network.

Stephen
