Thanks, Scott. You're right. Could have been more precise. I am, as
you say, discussing the sales of American vehicle makers in America.

"Car and Light Truck Retail Sales Results For First Half Of 2010"

General Motors Corp.
Total Cars . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 424,207 398,679
Total Light Trucks . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 652,786 543,453

Ford Motor Company
Total Car . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .369,730 298,694
Total Light Trucks . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 611,622 474,548

Chrysler LLC
Total Cars . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 157,849 107,199
Total Light Trucks . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 369,370 363,998

So as noted, American makers sell FAR more light-trucks than cars.

If one includes world car-maker sales in America, as you say, the
sales of cars and light trucks are close to being equal in the US.

Maybe a better Subject line is 'Responsible Vehicle Manufacturers'

And, safety? Are non-FWD Light-Trucks better on icy winter roads?

Don't know. But if all US makers died, our world would be cleaner.
