As for 24 Mbps, isn't that a standard definition of ADSL2+ max speed?

Regarding TVs: LCDs "about a quarter of the power" of the CRT?

I just flipped the 32" Sony to look at the back. Nominal power, 78W. The 
LCDs on the Cnet comparison table range from 71W to 143W - from "about 
the same for same screen" to double the power.

"About the same" is considerably better than the last time I checked LCD 
TV power consumption, about two years ago, which means the next purchase 
might be an LCD. But I don't feel like turning a TV to landfill for no 
particularly good reason.
