We at the ACMA have begun the exciting and
challenging mission of rebuilding our website
www.acma.gov.au and we are looking for people to
participate in a half-day workshop to help us
better understand the needs of those who use our site.

The workshop is scheduled to run from 2:00pm
until 6.30pm on Tuesday 3 May at a location (TBA)
in the Sydney CBD. Catering will be provided at
the event as well as a financial incentive.

It will involve a range of structured activities,
such as consumer interest areas in the
communication and media space, design and
interface preferences and many more collaborative activities.

The ACMA would like to recruit a broad sample of
users from the general community. We are looking
to reflect the wide diversity of the community in
the workshops to give us the best chance of
meeting the needs of all users of communications and media services.

The new site is central to our strategic goal of
communicating, facilitating and regulating media
and communications in Australia’s public interest.

The driving vision of the project is to rebuild
our site around the needs of our users. This is
a critical organising principle and to succeed we
need to collaborate with all segments of the
community who are affected by, or are direct
consumers of, the communications and media tools
and services that form such a large part of our daily lives.

This collaboration will strengthen our
understanding of what matters most to citizens
and consumers in the media and communication
space, how they go about fulfilling their needs
and goals and what is the best way we can help them achieve that.

If you are interested in attending please reply
to cassady.southern at acma.gov.au. We’ll be in
touch with you closer to the time to inform you
of the time and exact venue location. In your
reply, please indicate your profile by providing the following information:
Name
Age
Gender
One line highlighting what concerns you most in
the media and communications space

Many thanks

Our truest response to the irrationality of the
world is to paint or sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
