Marghanita,
as I don't have the physical copy I can not say if anything is missing
in the eBook translation. However, the eBook version has lots of images,
footnotes, acknowledgements, index and table of contents. My bookmarks
and my notes are created by me using the iBook app's bookmark/notes
facilities. TOC entries as hyperlinks are created by the author and come
with the book. Can I suggest you go to your local Apple store and have a
look at the iBook app. I"m sure they will have a book you can browse
already installed. If not,m you can download any free book whilst you
are there using iBook's store facility and see for yourself how easy it is.
