I don't think it's overlooked for fibre, more than the speed figures quoted already take it into account -- at least at the "last mile" / GPON level that's NBN Co's responsibility. 100Mbps fibre is what it says, pretty much. 100Mbps wireless is when you're standing under the tower with no other users.
The top-line figures used to compare the technologies are not really comparable and that, in my opinion, is where the misrepresentation lies.
