Vodafone in New Zealand has launched femto cells that connect to any
broadband network.
They offer improved mobile coverage by routing calls from nearby
mobiles over the WAN link.
Voda broadband customers are generously not charged for this traffic,
but users of other ISPs will pay their standard rates!
The cells are not restricted to just the owner's mobile, so neighbours
may well benefit from your WAN link too.
To help Vodafone expand their coverage using your network link they
will charge you $99, but you need to supply the WAN link and power.
