Aye.
Link has been a great meeting place for me since 94/95 I think. I
don't post much but I really enjoy the discussions, whether policy or
tech. It's been a sounding board and testing population for my crazy
video streaming applications over the years, but most of all I
appreciate the polite, intelligent atmosphere of people genuinely
looking out for the national interest as all this innovation washes
over us.
I prefer to keep it as a mailing list; I use a separate gmail account
to read it (and many other lists). Going to a web forum would be more
work for me.
That said, I reckon we could at least have a facebook page invented to
mark Link's transition to this new era. It should point to the web
archive, and give some nice instructions for getting on/off the
mailing list. I don't think the discussions should be moved to
facebook.
Tony, thanks for all your efforts over the years. Link is a unique
cross-sector forum for discussing how online technology affects
Australian society. Thanks for thinking of it so early.
