My papers for the Bled conference have been significantly improved
over the years by on-list and off-list feedback from linkers!

Once again, I'd greatly appreciate constructive criticisms, and
suggestions of useful sources in the area.

Some aspects are likely to be of interest to many linkers, particularly:

- Key Functions of Consumer Computing
     http://www.rogerclarke.com/EC/CCC.html#Exh1
which tracks how people have been shifting from apps to services

- Requirements of Outsourced Consumer Computing
     http://www.rogerclarke.com/EC/CCC.html#Exh3
which tries to convert organisational risk assessment dialect
into expressions relevant and meaningful to consumers

Thanks in advance!

(This is open to posting on to other relevant lists and individuals).

The Cloudy Future of Consumer Computing
                http://www.rogerclarke.com/EC/CCC.html

Consumers used to run software on their own devices and store their
data at home. They are now increasingly dependent on
service-providers for both functionality and data-storage. There is a
wide diversity of consumer devices, of consumer profiles, and of
consumer needs. Risk assessment techniques need to be applied to the
consumer context. A preliminary evaluation concludes that consumers
who place reliance on outsourced consumer services may be seriously
exposed, because the Terms of Service of mainstream services provide
very low levels of assurance about features critical to consumers'
interests.
