That's not just a Facebook problem. I had a contact with a well-known
finance company today to apply for a credit card for which I had to
agree to terrible uses of my personal information with NO way to
withhold permission from them giving my information away except
stopping the application. In essence, I was held hostage because this
continuing 'bundled consent' seems to be the industry norm. I would
complain to the Commissioner, but fat lot of good that would do.
So I just have to take my chances.
I'm already taking on a different bank that knocked me back without
providing any details for why and they think that's just fine. I'm
raising an internal complaint with them because their 'communications
centre' could only provide scripted answers. They can write
themselves into all sorts of abuses of our information, but they
claim 'protection of their loan processes' whenever you query them.
I'm sick of financial agencies in this country. Mattress stuffing is
looking real good about now.

Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or
sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
