[LINK] Any linkers at Gunghalin NBN meeting?

I was there last night. It was a good turnout and the presentations
were run well.  Shame that Senator Lundy could not speak for longer,
as her recent blog post "ICT Touches Everything" is directly relevant.
She had been granted a short leave to be away from parliament to
attend the community update.

The NBNCo reps spoke about the applications in development, and those
to come. Then there were many questions about the expected timeframes
for the local rollout in Gungahlin, and wider across the ACT.

I guess there would have been 150 people there. Peter Elford (local
Cisco edu/gov manager) is on the community council board and gave some
background to the broadband basket case that the community (his) has
endured over recent decades.

A very informative and positive update that showed the dedication of
those involved.
