You're mixing up your apples and oranges. This has nothing to do with
addressing and routing.


My take on the situation is that those with an established brand in .com (or
other existing GTLD or ccTLD) may acquire the equivalent TLD as a land grab
but then not actively use it. So it's just a money spinning exercise with no
useful purpose.
