these things tend to become more of a hassle for adults than for children.

[when, exactly, did parents no longer have to actually parent? to be
actively involved in teaching their offspring, well, *anything*? seems
sometime in the past couple of decades parenting became no longer the
responsibility of parents (or anyone else - though the pressure is on
for teachers to also parent, but without the authority to do so), and at
the same time children must (a) be saved from life, and yet (b) not
denied any and every possible opportunity for 'fun' ...]
