I have heard (you know on QI and other places) that banning smoking has led to the air in planes being much worse, as they don't have to have nearly as much airflow in the cabin that they used to in the time of smoking, also that airlines lower oxygen levels so people get sleepy but this is deleterious for health in many cases.
