Just wondering how widespread this is. Could any Win user who's used
Google services take a look in your "Scheduled Tasks" Windows folder:
Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks.
And tell me how many Google Tasks are inserted their on your machine?
When deleted they soon re-appear, but disabling them 'seems' to work.
Simply I'm curious about the Tasks that Win users collect from Google.
I get four Tasks: at log-on, daily at 10.09pm, and 2 daily at 11.20pm
and, all seem call-home type Google Scheduled Tasks. Your collection?
Note, of course these are seperate from Tracking Cookies of which AVG
finds a dozen or more *every day* and removes them. Note also, i have
*nothing at all* to hide, or feel ashamed of .. but it's dammed cheek!
Note, here's some of today's fifteen Tracking Cookies, for example ..
"C:\Documents and Settings\Client\Cookies\client at atdmt[1].txt";
"Found Tracking cookie.Atdmt"; "Moved to Virus Vault"
"C:\Documents and Settings\Client\Cookies\client at bs.serving-sys2].txt";
"Found Tracking cookie.Serving-sys"; "Moved to Virus Vault"
"C:\Documents and Settings\Client\Cookies\client at liveperson[1].txt";
"Found Tracking cookie.Liveperson"; "Moved to Virus Vault"
"C:\Documents and Settings\Client\Cookies\client at m.webtrends[1].txt";
"Found Tracking cookie.Webtrends"; "Moved to Virus Vault"
"C:\Documents and Settings\Client\Cookies\client at mediaplex[1].txt";
"Found Tracking cookie.Mediaplex"; "Moved to Virus Vault"
etc etc ..
Cheers,
Stephen
