Lindy writes,

If you go to eResources on the National Library of Australia home page,
you can sign up and get a library card mailed to you.

Then you can access many excellent (and expensive) databases from many
computers everywhere ... lots of full-text online resources for free :)

Sign up for a card here: http://www.nla.gov.au/app/eresources/

Scroll through the free resources here:

http://www.nla.gov.au/app/eresources/list/licenced

Resources include:
Academic Search Premier; Aust/NZ Reference Centre; Informit e-Library;
AustLit; Factiva (Aust. & overseas newspapers); MasterFile Premier; JSTOR;
Project Muse; Encyclopedia Britannica Online; World Book Online; Gale
Virtual Reference Library; Oxford Music Online; Japan Knowledge; MEMSO
(Medieval & Early Modern Sources Online); Columbia Granger's World of
Poetry.

Along with Trove, another great resource offered by the National Library.
