ONE of the never-ending mysteries in the world of law and order is
how police can claim to lack resources when they always seem to find

to baggy-bottomed crime reporters.
The mystery is why anyone would bother as it appears only senior
police take crime reporters seriously. Within the inner sanctums of
the media, such reporters have long ago been identified as lacking

(b) They are toilet-trained (optional).
(c) They cannot spell.
(d) They smell and therefore are encouraged to spend most of their
working hours out of the office.
(e) They own a raincoat.
And yet generations of deluded senior police have thought these
reporters are movers and shakers rather than barely employed vagrants.
