I have a 3G Kindle, it's the slightly newer version. It has a Webkit browser
and I have found that it works quite well everywhere I have taken it so far
(Thailand & Fiji). There is no restriction on the sites you can visit and as
long as you can tolerate the monochrome screen it's fine. I used it to read
the SMH every morning in Phuket a few weeks ago. It's not fast but it is
free :)
