Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass are being progressively foisted
on debit-card owners. They add a contactless chip, which is on by
default, and which makes payment without any form of authentication
other than possession of the card and placement within a few cm of a
reader.
I've returned the cards that have been sent to me, and will
progressively abandon financial institutions that offer me no option.
I recommend that other people do likewise.
A remark was made to me today that bank customers have been wrapping
their cards in foil to stop info from being available.
Is anyone aware of any forms of consumer resistance to these things?
