I don't have any inside knowledge as to if Huawei is a threat to 
national security, but I could not recommend their products, given my 
experience with after sales service.

I brought a Huawei Deuce U8520 Dual SIM Android Smart Phone last 
September. I had problems with the phone and online reports indicated 
there was known fault in this model, so took it back to where I bought 
it for repair by Huawei in November 2011. It is now April 2012 and the 
phone has not been repaired, replaced or refunded:
