The editing of fan versions of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" is 
a work of genius. The videos have been respectfully edited together and 
the audio blended so they all sound good: someone taping the tune on 
their face, a heavy metal guitar rendition, a choir. Some animated 
parodies of the art by Emma Hack is also featured.

This shows that an artist can acknowledge and celebrate their fans wish 
to identify with their work online, rather than threatening them with 
copyright infringement.
