I use ixquick also known as startpage. I also have duckduckgo 
installed. Startpage includes a proxy for accessing the search result 
pages, too.

I stopped using Google last year as my ff search default. In fact, I 
added a bunch of search options, including wikipedia, amazon, ebay, 
bing, and even Twitter. There are heaps of them. I have search 
YouTube installed, but that was before Google bought it. I seldom 
need to search for videos, so I think I'll remove it.
