LinkedIn has upgraded its security and is asking people to add a second
email address and to nominate one as their primary address. My guess is
that many people use their work address and when they move jobs get into
difficulties accessing their accounts. Adding a personal address
reduces this possibility.

Adding an email address or nominating your existing address as primary
requires a confirmation step.
