I think that the clothes thing is just funny and the fake DVDs that
vary in quality from unplayable to bad cams are not an incentive to
pirates or to movie watchers.
The thing that *is* really bad and really dangerous is the trade in
fake pharmaceuticals. A trade that has terrible repercussions in
China and throughout Asia and Africa. Rarely they make an appearance
in western countries but are picked out fairly quickly, but in poor
countries fake pharmaceuticals can be deadly.
Unfortunately the west (read the US) is more concerned with getting
patent royalties and stopping generics than worrying about people
dying because their anti-malarials have no or little active ingredient
or their antibiotics aren't.
Sigh.
