Every now and then, I get rejects like:
<bje at air.net.au>: host mailhub.air.net.au[203.11.71.23] said: 550 5.7.1
<bje at air.net.au>: Recipient address rejected: Message rejected due
to: SPF
fail - not authorized. Please see
http://www.openspf.org/Why?s=mfrom;id=david.boxall@hunterlink.net.au;ip=180.181.128.93;r=bje@air.net.au
(in reply to RCPT TO command)
In part, the openspf.org link text reads:
bje at air.net.au rejected a message that claimed an envelope sender
address of david.boxall at hunterlink.net.au.
bje at air.net.au received a message from mp3.skymesh.com.au
(180.181.128.93) that claimed an envelope sender address of
david.boxall at hunterlink.net.au.
However, the domain hunterlink.net.au has declared using SPF that it
does not send mail through mp3.skymesh.com.au (180.181.128.93). That is
why the message was rejected.
I own a couple of domains and have accounts with several ISPs. Mail from
all of my (potentially infinite) email addresses goes through skymesh.
I guess nobody who uses Sender Policy Framework will get messages from
me, unless I use a Skymesh address.
