	    Breakthrough in learning systems
	Blended Online/Off-line Knowledge Store

CANBERRA, 5 October 2012: The Link Institute announced today a
breakthrough learning technology. Professor Klerphell, Institute
director explained that this system was developed to overcome problems
with conventional MOOCs (Massive Online Open Courses):

"The use of MOOCs and other online course systems are adequate for some
educaitonal applications, but have a number of limitations. The MOOC
require a live Internet connection and so cannot be used where this is
not available, due to remoteness, cost or for security reasons. Also
many MOOCs rely on digital video files which use large amounts of
bandwidth and cannot be seen by those who have limited eyesight or heard
by the deaf. In addition many display screens do not work well in sunny
environments."

After years of research the institute has developed a learning
technology which can be used both on-line and off-line (so called
"blended" mod") and is compatible with hand-held digital systems. The
system is also is available on a lightweight flexible composite organic
carbon fibre sub-strait to which data is written using a solvent based
process and allows the use of ambient light for readout.

The acronym for the new "Blended Online/Off-line Knowledge Store" is:

	BOOKS

The solvent based process on composite organic carbon fibre sub-strait
is know as "ink on paper".

Klerphell said:

"We think 'books' will significantly improve education. Instead of
having to watch hours of videos online, the student will be able to flip
open the relevant knowledge chunk, for which we have coined the term
'Chapter'. We are also considering training human analogues of AI
programs to help the students, to be called 'Teachers'."
