Sorry if this is an inappropriate place to raise, but there was
mention of IE being vulnerable. This is also in the newspaper, with a
recommendation to install a patch. I seldom use IE, but at times it's
my only option with some websites.
I downloaded the software, EMET,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2458544
but it is not exactly user friendly, despite Microsoft's webpage
saying it is Easy to Use with its GUI. I guess it might be if the
words made any sense. The status page comes up with a column of green
ticks for most running processes, but the column below Running EMET
is completely empty.
I did read the User manual, but what a mess! The technical 'why' is
presented before getting to the 'how'. A general user in the public
would throw up their hands. Go to Help and you are presented with a
discussion forum. To find the settings file to import, even if the
user understood what import is, you have to find the install
directory and go in several levels to find the protection settings.
Why must they make things so hard?
Oh well.

Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or
sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
