The Eidos Institute in partnership with National and State Libraries Australasia, the National Library of Australia and Swinburne University of Technology is pleased to announce its next upcoming Conference in its National Conference Series on Wednesday 10th October
2012 in Canberra http://eidos.org.au/v2/grey-literature
Recent advances in information and communication technologies are disrupting traditional publishing models, radically changing our capacity to reproduce, distribute, control and publish information.
This is particularly so in the case of policy research which is often produced outside formal commercial publishing channels as 'grey literature'. Grey literature provides both opportunities and challenges but there is no doubt that it continues to grow in volume, importance and complexity.
This one day National Conference at the NLA in Canberra will explore these opportunities for increased access to knowledge and research communication as well as the challenges presented in producing, disseminating, evaluating, collecting, preserving and accessing grey literature.
Registration for Eidos Affiliates and Members $180, Student/Concession/Retired Earlybird rate $100 - Register before 17 September 2012.
Archives staff from the government and academic sectors will be interested in this conference and the associated ARC Linkage research project http://greylitstrategies.info/
