Just in case some Linkers hadn't already seen it...
Very expansive analysis from good old Aunty with little positive to say the
"new alternative".
Overall the question has become not about the tech or the costing the whole
proposition becomes one of policy [failure] and how that is pitched.
Overwhelmingly Link commentary has been dismissive of the fundamentals of
this proposal. So do we step outside catching the 'devils in the detail'
and leverage our analysis into the grey area of 'evangelising' [good?] /
'lobbying' [bad?] or is the stasis of 'informed comment' to be maintained?
Comment on the ABC is really valuable and my personal slant is clear from
the subject line. My interest isn't muddying the waters but intersection of
the scope of this issue and national policy. Happy to engage off list :)

The Coalition's broadband policy slogan states that they will "Complete the
current NBN cheaper and faster." This simply isn't true. We'll continue to
cover the sketchy claims of being 'faster' and 'cheaper' in other articles
but for now we'll focus on the supposed similarities and differences. The
Coalition's NBN alternative is different by almost every measure. It uses
different technologies to connect the bulk of the country; it has different
uses and applications; it affects Australia's health service differently;
it provides different levels of support in emergencies and natural
disasters; it requires a different amount of power to operate; the cost of
maintenance is different; the overall cost, the return on investment and
