I think it's interesting that this question in conjunction with an
increase in spoofing and spam came up in our computer club last week
and I advised everyone to stop giving their contacts away to 3rd
party sites (on top of the other advice of use Bcc when possible).
That link I put up from Joel Brenner discusses trusted identities,
too, and the value of that versus the value of anonymity. Although
his hyperbole equating the intent of anonymous posters with street
muggers was a bit over the top.
