A while back, I had reason to try the NSW app

also displays every incident, but easily narrows to those within 50 km 
of the user.

The app seems to consume a lot of power. The battery ran down quickly 
and the phone got quite hot. Mind you, it was over 47 degrees that day.

I might question the wisdom of something that, while warning of danger, 
risks disabling the phone.
