Linkers may have been reading about the use of White House petitions
for various issues, including a recent one about deporting Piers
Morgan because he is advocating gun control in the US. I had a look
at the petition site and found an interesting use of the technology
with 204 active petitions. This one caught my attention for Link:
https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/make-distributed-denial-service-ddos-legal-form-protesting/X3drjwZY
Make, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), a legal form of protesting.
What is unfortunate is that the petition argument information is
limited. It's like they took the limitations of a paper petition form
and didn't take advantage of the function of the internet to allow
for anything else about the topic. This is a cursory view, so they
may allow for embedded links to more info.
Out of curiosity to see what exists in Australia, I did a search
[online petition australian government] and found
http://www.gopetition.com.au/ - a private operation that is
international with an Australian presence
http://www.petitiononlineaustralia.com/ - another private one that is
similar to the first one
http://www.change.org/en-AU - Change - same deal
http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/en/work-of-assembly/petitions/overview/info_on_epetitions
- an attempt by the Queensland govt
http://www.getup.org.au/campaigns - GetUp! which is filtered through
the group rather than open to the citizens directly
I thought there was supposed to be a Web 2.0 process by the
Commonwealth for this purpose. It's not turning up in the Google data set.

Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or
sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
