If you are an academic, then you should attribute your own work,
including blog postings, if they have something substantial to say (this
is in addition to any copyright requirements).

If you provide content for someone to publish, then you have to accept
their conditions of publication. That might include transferring
copyright to them and their exclusive use of the material. To avoid
getting caught up in this, I usually put a substantial comment on my own
blog first and then a summary of that elsewhere, with "more at" and my
own blog address at the bottom.
