Thanks, Jan, for posting this text.  Googling for it I couldn't find a
single source, but it seems to have been passed around by email and
several people have put it on forum sites, such as this one:

Such discussions mention a "Children of the Magenta Line" video.  I
found it being discussed here:

I am not sure of its formal title and have only listened to the first
few minutes of it so far.  Apparently this is only part of a lecture..
Searching for:  "Automation dependency" "American Airlines" turns up
other mentions.

This forum was perhaps one of the earliest ones to contain the email.
It also contains what is apparently an account of the crash from a pilot
on board a plane which was poised for takeoff.
