Aldi to sell quad-core Android tablet with 3G

Aldi will sell a low cost 10.1in Android tablet with a quad-core processor
and 3G in Australia from (today).
The German supermarket chain will stock the Bauhn-branded WL-101GQC tablet
from Wednesday 5 June for $249.
The device is a limited run special and is the fourth Android tablet the
supermarket has sold in Australia.
The Bauhn WL-101GQC tablet has a 10.1in IPS display with a resolution of
1280x800, comes with 4GB of internal memory and has a 5-megapixel rear-
facing camera.
It also has 1GB of RAM, comes with a microSD card slot and includes a
built-in GPS chip. The tablet has a 6000mAh lithium polymer battery.
Bauhn will include a 16GB microSD card in the sales package. The product is
advertised as offering 20GB of total storage, consisting of 4GB of internal
memory along with the included 16GB microSD card.
The WL-101GQC is the first sold by Aldi to be powered by a quad-core
processor, a 1.2Ghz QualComm MSM8225Q CPU. The tablet will run the 4.1
Jelly Bean version of Google's Android platform.
The device also comes with a front-facing VGA camera and will support 3G on
the 850MHz and 2100MHz network bands in Australia.
Bauhn provides a one year warranty with the new Android tablet, while Aldi
says it will refund or replace any Bauhn product within 60 days, provided
it obtains a proof of purchase..
