In a recent report on micro-apartments in New York, Aljazeera showed a
display home with a flat screen TV hiding a drinks cabinet
"Micro-apartments the way forward in New York", 16 June 2013:

In a mock press release in 2003, the fictional Professor Klerphel
announced a very similar an Internet bar fridge. This had a flat screen
TV with a slim drinks cabinet behind it: "Internet Bar Fridge Announced
", 21 February 2003:

More seriously, if you have the screen with a small desk in front of it,
in a small apartment this can be used as a home office as well as the TV.
