That raises an interesting question. Should all browser applications
be set to Action 'Always Ask' for anything nowadays, even PDFs? I
could possibly discriminate the probably good from the probably bad,
but could the general user? I rely on the source, such as a secure
website, in most instances, or at least a level of trust in the
sources I choose to go to. So much is being delivered in PDF
nowadays. And I use WOT (Web of Trust) plugin that advises page
trustworthiness.
My system software is set to ask me every time an executable presents
itself, though.
