Though hardly news for Link it's quite evident that after our next federal
elections Australia might end up with a very second rate broadband network.
Given the specific & long-held Link Charter, and also an obviously superior
intellectual quality of membership, it would seem fair to propose that Link
has an intellectual & social responsibility to attempt to alter matters :-D
Thus it's hereby proposed that the Link membership as an immediate priority
gives consideration as to ways to avoid the seemingly inevitable conclusion
Hence contemplating this matter I for one propose that the Coalition should
be made aware that if we have an especially speedy and disseminated network
then all of the films, music, games etc etc that are currently pirated will
in future exist in the cloud. Then why would folk clutter devices with code
which can readily exist elsewhere, and simply be downloaded and utilized on
demand. Who needs silly DVDs, etc? With simplified content delivery with IP
protections, copyright holders will rejoice, and any government responsible
would indeed look like Arts angels.
All those silly, difficult and bothersome debates about property ownership
will become much less pressing and all the Coalition will look like heroes.
It is apparent that the Coalition should be made aware of this immediately.
With regards,
Prof Klerphell
