[LINK] Billing cellular sessions by the 1Mb unit.

Dear Linkers,
I note that more and more mobile providers are now charging for data
sessions by rounding each session up to the next megabyte.
This is something which strikes me as unfair - any person who uses their
smartphone in an area with less than perfect coverage can have their
allowance eaten up or overages skyrocket due to data sessions automatically
reconnecting and registering as a full megabyte of usage, when only a few
kilobytes has traversed the network.
The way I see it, a heavy user (ie, large data allowance on their plan) in
a good coverage area probably wouldn't care about this.
OTOH a light user who has a 250Mb allowance who otherwise barely uses their
phone, but whose phone reconnects six, ten times a day may end up paying
excess in data charges when their actual usage may be only a few megabytes.
Do other people think that this is unfair?
