Yes. And I was just going to point out what Jim Birch did next.
Treat your TV as dumb, do not connect it to the Internet, and
use a smart box like a PVR or a Roku Streaming Stick to get
what you want.

All I am saying is that static IP assignment and the avoidance of
DHCP will stop smart devices from quietly connecting to the Internet
without your knowledge. This is a very important security prerequisite.

Now, you could attempt to firewall/block every attempt that your smart TV
makes to phone home to LG or whomever the manufacturer or data gatherer is.
But that is the way of madness IMHO.

Better to use a smart device connected to your TV that you can firewall
and control.
