[LINK] NBN Satellite changes

Sir Malcolm is on radio this morning here in Melbourne patting
himself on the back for NBN Co. adding some satellite services
because the current interim services are undersized. Part of this is
wrapped up in the WA senate re-vote this weekend -- oh, the poor poor
WAians who aren't getting broadband, boohoo. Anyway, Renai has
written an article about this at Delimiter:

The comments are also interesting. Malcolm seems to switch sides
depending on the political winds, saying at one time that there was
plenty of capacity on satellites, to why is the ALP pushing for a new
bird, calling things train-wrecks, and so forth, that are really a
function of the prior Howard govt illustrious Helen Coonan's inaction
in this space at all, despite the continuing problems with network
services here. The other thing to listen to when he speaks about this
is that any chance of a goof is labelled as NBN Co, but if it's for
'credit', it's "the government". He's trying to avoid mud sticking to
him or Sir Tony of Abbottabad.

Sooner or later, I hate to break it to you, you're gonna die, so how
do you fill in the space between here and there? It's yours. Seize your space.
