Funding Your Research" in Canberra,  9:30 AM, 26 August 2014.

Got a great idea for a project? Thought about crowd funding but don't 
know where to start?

NECTAR, the Early Career Academic initiative at ANU, has brought 
together two experts to share their insights and experiences of using 
crowd funding to support research projects.

     Dr Melanie Thomson, Lecturer in Molecular Medicine at Deakin 
University Geelong, has successfully crowdfunded 2 research projects: 
Mighty Maggots in 2013 and Hips 4 Hipsters  in 2014.

     Mr Prashan Paramanathan is Founder and CEO of the not-for-profit 
crowd funding platform chuffed.org, a platform focused on non-profit and 
social enterprise projects.
