The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is calling on Australian Business and Government agencies to report cyber security incidents via its website.
ACSC Co-ordinator, Major General Stephen Day, said that one of the key functions of the ACSC was to encourage and enable reporting of cyber security incidents.
“Every report helps the ACSC to develop a better understanding of the threat environment and will assist other organisations who are also at risk.”
“Cyber security incident reports are also used in aggregate for developing new defensive techniques and training measures to help prevent future incidents.” he said. The ACSC brings together cyber security capabilities from across the Australian Government into a single location.
The reporting service is just one of the ways the new ACSC acts as a hub for collaboration and information sharing with the private sector, state and territory governments, academia and international partners to combat the full breadth of cyber threats.

Individual members of the public can now also report cybercrime to the Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (ACORN). The ACORN is a secure reporting and referral service for all Australians for cybercrime and any online incidents that may be in breach of Australian law.
