The Auditor-General has issued Audit Report No.50 2013–14, "The Cyber
Attacks: Securing Agencies’ ICT Systems":
http://www.anao.gov.au/~/media/Files/Audit%20Reports/2013%202014/Audit%20Report%2050/AuditReport_2013-2014_50.pdf
The Auditor reported on security at:
* Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS);
* Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Customs);
* Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA);
* Australian Taxation Office (ATO);
* Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT);
* Department of Human Services (DHS); and
* IP Australia.
The agencies are reported to have "... security controls in place to
provide a reasonable level of protection from breaches and disclosures
of information from internal sources. However, this is not sufficient
protection against cyber attacks from external sources."
