Mmmm ...

But it looks like Abbott's gone off science and technology, and is shooting for a deity-led economy, with what he's providing the School Chaplaincy program.

Why he didn't just invest the $250 million in a long shot on the TAB or SportsBet I don't know, but we of the atheist persuasion have never gotten how all the money and resources accrue to religions. It's all a mystery to us.

That said, it'll be a great investment to decrease the misery felt by the young, the old, the sick and the poor when we have all those new chaplains appearing from the ranks of the unemployed.

I imagine our Australian Captains of Industry will be screaming for MORE Chaplains in the Schools over the years, as the market for (Australian made of course) crucifixes and rosary beads will go through the roof, and the the effect on the real estate market of the churches being filled to capacity by grateful pensioners, sick, young and poor will be pronounced. Churches will spring up all over the place to cater to the misery inherent in the rest of the Budget. 

And if there's any greater example of ruthless competition and implacable will to dominate their market than organised religion (hey they persecute and burn competitors at the stake, put whole populations of reluctant consumers to the sword, and have sales techniques that go beyond legendary, bloody and brutal when it comes to controlling their markets ... indeed the ACCC may have its hands full) .... show me. 

These guys live and breathe every virtue that this government proposes and supports ... and have done for thousands of years. Experience like that doesn't just grow on trees.

And as a bonus, we won't have to listen to those boring Evolution, Climate and other lectures again.

The plan is all coming together ... just you wait and see.        :)
