Yo Jan,
Yeah, Direct Action a monumentally stupid idea ... that from the stats already released doesn't seem to work. (According to a couple of recent items on Fairfax and other sites, greenhouse gas emissions have already started trending upwards.) Subsidising the sinners ... has a great ring to it doesn't it?
But what I'm more concerned about is where my $550 per annum has gone. I mean, all the energy bills seem to be trending upwards, and if what Stephen received ($36 for a quarter - and of course a commensurate reduction in his tariff ... which I'll assume that like me he didn't receive) is indicative. Who would've thunk it? Our power companies and utilities using this reduction in their costs and then a subsidy from the government to feather their own nests. Completely unforseeable. How could the LNP be blamed for that?
Methinks this government has bull-shitted us yet again, and that many cheques have been in the mail to the LNP fund-raisers.
Not to worry ... September-November 2016 (with or without our current 'leader' - and I use the term loosely) is pay-back time.
Just my 2 cents worth ...
