Here's an explanation of what they're doing. And I think I now get it. It's because of so much 'autorun' flash coming through.
I have had Flashblock on my FF for a very long time, so until Youtube started running automatically, I hadn't given it much thought. I was blocking because of the ads and other content that would just start running and using my data.
It looks like Adobe has been working on this sandbox for awhile now, starting with IE.
I guess I'm not too fussed about this because I only ever allow things to run (as best I can) when I want it to. But unfortunately, lots of people hadn't put those stops in already.
Still, if anyone finds a FF app to handle this safely and still access video content, I'd appreciate the advice.
