There is a fashion for including "critical thinking" in university 
graduate attributes. ANU did a survey of such attributes:

But I am not sure how you teach or test "critical thinking". If you 
can't teach it, or at least test it, then it is just more marketing hype.

ACS was reported to be reviewing their ICT Profession Core Body of 
Knowledge (CBOK) and were interested in what employers want in terms of 
"soft skills" for graduates:

My suggestion was e-portfolios for teaching soft skills:

Dr Will Uther, from Google Sydney talked to the ANU students in 
February. He said Google wanted graduates who could code and also 
communicate:
